The room was clean and didn't smell of deodorisers or stale cigarette smoke - the amenities were basic but all there.
The room was in need of some basic maintenance - the curtains were off their hangers and consequently wouldn't close properly which meant there was light in the room all night and the toilet ran water constantly so there was noise and odf course the waste of water - neither of these things are major, but they were a little annoying ( the room was 203)

The showerhead made a massive impact on my daughters - they loved it!
The hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren to get around in - nothing direct to the reception area from the second floor - it's a bit like going around your hat to get to your elbow!

I recently stayed at 1831 Boutique in Sydney for a quick 2-night stopover. The location was perfect, with easy access to the CBD, cinemas, and Capitol Square LRT Station. The staff were incredibly kind and polite, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Despite being centrally located, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, allowing me to have a peaceful night's sleep. The room itself was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The rain shower had excellent pressure, and the hot water was glorious. for the price I paid, it was great value.
I do recommend this hotel.

The location and helpful staff were the best parts of our stay.
On the last few nights of our stay the noise underneath the hotel was quite loud. I think it was coming from Charlie Chans it was not sure , we were in 218.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! Despite its unassuming exterior, it exceeded all expectations. The rooms may be compact, but they make excellent use of the available space. I stayed in a matchbox room and couldn't believe how well-equipped it was. It had everything I needed, and more, including a mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities. The attention to detail was impressive, with thoughtful amenities provided. The hotel's location was also a major plus, conveniently situated near Chinatown. I loved being able to explore the vibrant area and indulge in some incredible dining options just steps away. Additionally, the staff were friendly and provided great service throughout my stay.
All in all, this hotel was fantastic. No improvements needed.
